Let's go to Saint Martin(Bangladesh) - (information post)

(To those people who do not know what Saint Martin is--it is the only coral island of Bangladesh and is amazingly beautiful.)

And to those people who know what is it, interested to go there but do not know much about it- I am writing this post for you just to provide some information about the place.

(Disclaimer: all the data are taken from internet, mostly from a site named www.somewhereinblog.net )

You can go Saint Martin Island by bus service and then but trawler or ship. The bus will take you to TEKNAF and then you need to take sea-truck or trawler. Among the non-AC bus, you can travel by MODERN LINE or S.ALAM bus service. It will cost almost 560 Taka (Bangladeshi currency). AC bus service is also available. It is “Saint Martin Express”, starts from KOLBAGAN, DHAKA. The bus is actually Mercedes. The phone number to contact is 01817210422-3. Its destination is TEKNAF, from where a ship called KEARI SINBAD leaves for Saint Martin Island. It will start at 9:30 from Teknaf and 3:30 from Saint Martin. You need to leave the bus at EAGLE/KUTUBDIUA GHAT, you may ask the supervisor or conductor of the bus to tell you when the particular place comes.

Don’t go to TEKNAF town, because then you need to get back 18 km.
You can have some snacks there, but don’t mind if you don’t find that satisfactory.
You can order tickets from DHAKA for sea-truck. Eagle or KUTUBDIA are the services for sea-truck.

Phone numbers of EAGLE are 01713145584, 01190124127. They have three classes of tickets, lower floor (cost 650 taka), and first floor (cost 700 taka) and executive class (cost 750 taka) (AC). Most people actually enjoyed the view of NAF River after they boarded on sea-truck. I think it is useless to buy tickets for executive class.
The departure time for sea-truck is 9:30 and it will start timely. You can enjoy the amazing views of the river and eventually you will approach the sea, you cannot imagine how much blue the sea can be…

After reaching the island, you may find some vehicle which will offer you a trip to your resort. They will demand 10 taka person, but will take 5 taka if you bargain. Please note, if not contacted earlier, it is very difficult to find a place in good resorts. Yet you may find some people looking for guests for their hotel. They are not very good, but can be used as a place to crash. But don’t give them more than 700 taka.

Here are contact numbers of some resorts…
Blue Marine- 8801819063418, 8801722473613
Obokash- 88028358485, 88029342351 (need to contact from dhaka)
Pacific resort- 8801732434264 (at Saint Martin), 8801712643694 (DHAKA)
Shaibal- 8801815014664

You may find rooms at 700-1000 taka except blue marine, obokash, shaibal. But they will ask a bigger amount firstly, you need to bargain.
You must go to SERA DIP if you go to Saint Martin. You can find engine boat and speed boat. 5/6 person can travel by speed boat. It will charge 1000 taka for up-down. Engine boat will charge 100 taka per person. There is also a submarine faced boat which will cost 200 taka per person.

Low CGPA? Worried about scholarship? Ok,sit tight...

I'm an engineering student and is obsessed with the thought to go abroad, especially to USA or Europe. But I found, when seriously thinking about the subject, that I actually know nothing about getting a scholarship or how to apply for it. From my country every year some people go abroad for study with proper funding. So I was trying to collect info from them. Now, I know something about the procedure.
I think I should write them so that others may find something practical in the web. What I know now are the previous experiences of our senior BUETians. They shared their experiences and views and we know from these. What I'm going to write are fully taken from the yahoo groups BUETian. I'll write the preliminary ideas and will share their experiences later. Actually, those experiences will make the best part of your understanding about the topic.

I'm listing some points today and will write elaborately in later posts.

1. GRE is the most important fact that most of the time matters alone in order to
get a scholarship.
2. The common concept of having high cgpa (as a mandatory condition) is not
correct, though it is highly important if you are hoping to get a chance at a top
school.
3. Low CGPA does get scholarships, so cheer up.
4. There are some differences between M.Sc. and M.Engg.
5. The way someone should act when a professor calls from abroad.(will be written in the later posts)
6. Always apply for several scholarships.
7. See the criteria of selecting a university.
8. You should download the pdf file from this link. (From skydrive-hotmail)
http://cid-a057a99d3ea595e0.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/.Public?uc=1
9. Korea and Singapore can be a destination (for PhD) also.
10. You should not make your CV so large that will disturb your professor.

Create a secure password ; know how to do it

A password is of little value if it's easily guessed by an intruder. Obviously, you should not use your name or something equally transparent. However, even a random word provides a little security against a determined intruder-some hackers use tools that try every word in the dictionary. By observing the following guide lines, you can create a password that is difficult to crack in a reasonable amount of time.

# Use at least eight characters. Longer is better, which is why some security experts suggest to use pass phrase. A password or phrase can include spaces and punctuation; in windows, the maximum length is 127 characters.

# Use a mixture of uppercase letters, lower case letters, numbers and punctuation.

# Avoid including your name or user name in the password.

# Use random sequences instead of words or intersperse numbers and punctuation within words( for example, Bo~!jROniNAd)

# You may create different password for different sites by modifying your existing password. For example,if you use bojroninad in one site, use 2ojroninad in another just by replacing b by 2.

With a little thought, it's pretty easy to come up with a password that is memorable and secure. For example-start with a phrase about yourself or your hobbies- one that you can easily remember, such as I'm addicted to travel. Make a few letter substitution, misspell a few words and you amy come up with I'm +icted to trabe!l.

And forget to write your password in any places, just keep them in your mind.

Bangladesh Riflels rebels , many army officer and BDR personel killed

Today at morning, when a ceremony has just begun at DORBAR HALL at Pilkhana BDR Headquarter, some soldiers enter and start shooting at normal soldiers and higher officials. They are probably a large group and have already taken control of BDR Headquarter. They also took a public market just beside the their headquarter under their control. These rebels are heavily armed and they are shooting towards the Bangladesh Army and RAB(Rapid action battalion). Also, they took the control of two college inside their premise and black smoke is seen coming out from these college campuses.

The reason of such rebellion, according to them, is the inequality in salary and some operation they have conducted for people in recent days by the governments order. One BDR soldier managed to come out when the incident happens and he went to surrender according to the government order, but local police has not arrested him. He says he does not know the reason behind this rebellion and he escaped just the moment he heard the sound of gunfire.

Bangladesh Army took position surrounding the BDR Headquarter and they are heavily armed. TV channel live broadcast shows that they are preparing for heavy fighting. Army is carrying machine gun and some canons of small size. Also, helicopter is seen in the sky above the BDR Headquarter. They were dropping hand bills for BDR soldiers from the helicopter.

Bangladesh government take this matter very seriously and they told that they want to talk with the rebels and Prime-minister will talk personally to these rebels. One under secretary and the Chief whip of Jatio Sangsad is already present at the position to talk with them. State minister is given the responsibilty to control the situation.

11 points you should ask yourself before you marry

Check these things before you marry:
Marriage is likely to be the most important subject of your life. So , before you go on, ask yourself a few questions.
1. How much do you earn, is that sufficient?
2. How much you understand women.
3. How much tolerant you are.
4. Are you physically fit?
5. How much you respect others.
6. Are you capable of changing your decision if necessary?
7. Are you a man of short temper, or like to observe where the situation goes?
8. How do you express your anger? Do you shout, break things!!! (Don’t do that, it will make situation worse and will make you loser at the end.)
9. Are you a bit squeaky?
10. Can you value others good sides or characteristic?
11. Do you suffer from superiority complex?

If you are in love and are in a desperate situation to marry, then you have no need to ask yourself the above questions. But if you think that you have organized your life and now you are ready to marry, then to be sure about that, you need to ask yourself the above questions. And please do not suggest yourself to marry unless you get positive and pro-active answers from your heart. It will just make the life hell if you choose a wrong decision about the time at this moment.

Administrator changes your password? No problem, you can yet access the computer.

When an administrator removes or changes your password for local account, you no longer have access to your encrypted files and e-mail messages. That's because your master key, which is needed to unlock your personal encryption certificate is encrypted with a hash that includes your password. when the password changes, the master key is no longer accessible. To regain access to the master key and to your desired files, change your password to your old password. Alternatively, use your password reset disk to change your password.

When you change your own password(through user account or with password reset disk). windows use your old password to decrypt the master key and then re-encrypts it with the new password, so your encrypted files and e-mail msg. remain accessible.
